Lipstick was first used in Mesopotamia about 5000 years ago. Lip paint was also known in ancient Egypt. There it was made from red pigment, beeswax and animal fat. Egyptians preferred dark lipsticks. From Egypt, lipstick came to Ancient Greece, and then to Rome. In 1949, the first machines were built in the United States to produce lipstick as it is today - in a metal, plastic or cardboard lipstick case.

Dyes and pigments
Dyes and pigments are the meaning of lipstick. Although they composed only a small percentage of the composition, they give the lipstick its uniqueness and color. Additives are additional ingredients that give the lipstick a nourishing effect. Various vitamins, UV protection, anti-aging components are often added to lipsticks. In order for the lipstick to lay down smoother, film-forming agents are often present in its composition, for example: food grade polyethylene. You should not be afraid of this ingredient, it is harmless. It prevents lipstick from rubbing off the lips after eating. In other words, it makes the lipstick lasting. For a longer preservation of useful properties, antioxidants and preservatives are included in the lipstick.

Production and manufacturing process
Before processing the fondant mass, you need to prepare a dispersion of pigments and oils. The dispersion is done for the pigments in the fondant mass are well mixed and the mass is homogeneous. Pigments mixed with oils are passed through a special machine - Disperser.
In accordance with the approved recipe, all components are loaded in turn into the boiler, pre-weighed. The ingredients are mixed until smooth and cooked for a certain time.
After the hot mass of lipstick is ready, a sample is taken from the boiler. It is compared in color with a reference sample. Corrective actions are taken if It's necessary. Samples are compared under different lighting conditions and on different surfaces.
Next, the hot mass is poured into containers. In such containers, the lipstick remains to cool. A marking label is glued to the container, which contains information about the product (date of manufacture, name, quantity, product code, product tone, etc.)
Each batch of mass in the laboratory is checked for compliance with physical and chemical indicators. If everything is in order with them, then a mark about admission to packaging is put on the marking label.
The cooled lipstick enters the packaging area. First of all, the briquette with the frozen fondant mass is cut into slices, like a piece of butter, with a large knife or spatula.
Pieces of mass are loaded into a boiler and heated so that the lipstick becomes liquid again.
